To help protect our community and ensure funds are sent to the right people, LaunchGood requires identity verification as part of our internal due diligence process.
As part of this process, you will be asked to provide a valid government-issued ID or passport. This helps us confirm the identity of the people involved in the fundraiser and verify who will receive the funds raised.

What is identity verification and why is it required?
Identity verification is part of a process commonly known as Know Your Customer (KYC). KYC helps financial platforms and payment providers confirm the identity of the people and organizations involved in receiving funds.
Requesting identification helps us:
- Confirm the identity of the person or organization involved in the fundraiser
- Verify who will receive the funds
- Meet our internal due diligence and compliance requirements
- Help protect donors and reduce the risk of fraud or misuse of funds
Who needs to provide an ID?
Depending on the type of fundraiser and how the funds will be received, we will require identification from the relevant individuals involved. This may include:
- Fundraiser Organizer: The person who creates and manages the fundraiser.
- Key Controller: A person with significant responsibility or control within an organization. Learn who is considered a Key Controller.
- Beneficiary: The person the fundraiser is raising funds for.
- Fund Recipient: The person who will receive the funds, if different from the Fundraiser Organizer or Beneficiary.
The documents required may vary depending on the fundraiser and how the funds will be used or received.
What happens after I submit my ID?
Once you submit your ID, our team will review it as part of our verification process. We check whether the document meets our Identification Document Standards and whether the information matches the details associated with the fundraiser.
If the document is missing information, unclear, expired, or does not meet our requirements, we'll contact you with further instructions.
Providing an ID does not guarantee that a fundraiser will be approved. We may also request additional information or documents as part of the review.
How is my information protected?
Your identification documents are kept private and securely stored. They can only be accessed by our Trust and Safety team members who are authorized to conduct identity verification and due diligence.
We use this information as part of our efforts to maintain a safe and trusted fundraising platform for our community.
